- 4-6 strips bacon
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Arrange bacon on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
- Bake for 15–20 minutes, or until very crisp.
- Transfer bacon to a paper towel-lined plate and let it cool.
- Crumble or chop the bacon into small pieces.
- Melt butter in a heavy-bottomed saucepan over medium heat.
- Cook for approximately 5–7 minutes, until golden brown and nutty.
- Remove from heat.
- Line a small baking dish with parchment paper.
- Spread bacon evenly over the dish.
- Pour browned butter over the bacon.
- Refrigerate for at least 1 hour, or freeze until completely firm.
- Break into bite-sized pieces and serve.
Notes
For the best texture, cook the bacon until very crisp and allow the browned butter mixture to become completely firm before breaking it into pieces. Watch the butter carefully while browning because it can burn quickly.
